Hurren appointed new Hednesford manager


As had been widely reported elsewhere in the past few days, Hednesford have finally confirmed Stratford Town manager Gavin Hurren as their new man at the helm, replacing Steve King. The 39-year-old is a well-known face at Keys Park across four spells - two as a player and two as a coach - and will bring assistant manager Lee Vaughan across with him from the Bards. It's another humbling and embarrassing collapse for the Pitmen this evening at Bower Fold as they allow Stalybridge to take all the points despite holding a 3-0 lead through Manny Duku (2) and Joel Taylor. An eight-minute spell of utter madness at the end of the first period saw Max Leonard (2) and Brandon Newell level matters before Newell grabbed a winner for Celtic in the second half

The Pitmen record their first league win at home since the opening day of the season this afternoon with a comprehensive victory over struggling City of Liverpool at Keys Park. Dom McHale's early penalty kick was added to by a Manny Duku strike before the break, with Dan Trickett-Smith assuming the goalscoring responsibilities in the second half with a fine brace

After three successive defeats in all competitions, the Pitmen finally get themselves back on track with three points in today's Staffordshire derby at Newcastle. A dominant first half from the visitors saw Dan Trickett-Smith give them a half-time lead, with Jack Bearne firing home to make it 2-0 in  the second half before Tim Grice grabbed a consolation goal for the home side deep into added time

Another poor team display from the Pitmen this evening sees them fall to a second successive league defeat, this time at in-form Congleton. The only goal of the game came right on the stroke of half-time as Manny Duku's handball in his own box handed the Bears a penalty kick which was converted by the influential Peter Williams
